August 4-Oct 7

End of Summer 2017 :-(

San Francisco in August.  You may see this one again on our Christmas card!

We had a last minute garage sale because Stephen wanted to earn some cash for a baseball card show in Sacramento in Sept.  I think this is at least the 5th time we've used these signs!

Steve and I had a rare date night.... Lady Gaga in AT&T Park in SF.  The night before school started.  Such bad parenting!

First Day of School.  Kids survived!

Monterey on Labor Day Weekend.  That water was COLD!

The real reason Chris wanted to go to Monterey.

A frozen coke can that exploded in the refrigerator.  This failed to impress my brother, but I thought it was pretty interesting.

Both boys were captains for their first football games of the season.  Chris is #34, I don't have a picture of Stephen's game.

Stephen and a few of his friends were coaches for the Powder Puff flag football game (the 8th grade football players coach the 8th grade cheerleaders....  my boy is growing up!)

Unfortunately a good friend of my parents passed away late September.  I was able to get away, so I flew back for the memorial service.  It was sure good to see them and Matt, but sad circumstances.

Boots can often be found on Stephen's bed.  This time under the covers.

Homecoming was this weekend (Oct 7th).  Poor Chris got voted Homecoming Prince for his squad.  Ha!  Chris is a good inch taller than I am now.....

Thank goodness all our friends and family in Florida and on the east coast made it through the hurricanes.  Very scary, and I'm sure you are still dealing with some of he after effects.  THANK YOU Uncle Rich for providing updates.

June 20- August 3

Stephen's and my trip to NY was followed by a quick trip to Ann Arbor to see Steve's parents.  Cousin Kara was there for the summer for an internship, and cousin Peter was there with a friend for a swim camp at Michigan U, and Kate was there to bring Peter home so we got lucky to see everyone (and Grandma and Grandpa had a houseful!!!)

 Kings Corners!

After Michigan, Stephen and I drove to Ohio for a Bar Mitzvah for his good friend (and our family friends) Brett Vaccaro.  What an experience and a wonderful series of events.  Brett did an amazing job with the ceremony, and the Vacarros are the most gracious hosts anywhere!  Stephen's friend Zach joined us from CA, so we had a buddy to hang around with too!

The CA boys at the reception the night before the ceremony.  (Brett will always be a CA boy to me, no matter where he was born, or where he is living!!  I'm SURE there are a lot of Yankees fans that would protest that!! )

Here are the boys again at the party.... late, when the lights came back on!

And back home..... Chris has a new passion - his scooter.  Stay tuned for videos of a tail whip!   We FINALLY got a grill so we can cook for these growing boys without heating up the house.

Chris was in the local 4th of July Parade with his All Star baseball team, Stephen in yet another basketball tournament.... this one they Won!!!!!

Short hike around Lake Anza in Tilden Park in Berkeley near our house

Vegas for a basketball tournament for both boys.  No basketball pictures, but we did see Jerry Rice and get his autograph!!

And back home.... Football season starts

And now I'm realizing that almost the whole summer went by and we haven't seen (our nephew) Owen.  He's right nearby in Sunnyvale doing an internship at Apple.  Need to fix that!!

And almost forgot..... This is for sure the last summer that I am taller than Chris.... or was that last summer?  Too close to call....
